Meet our students: Naeem & Nehad

Naeem 27 and Nehad 41 are from Syria, they both fled from war and came to Luxembourg 6 months ago. In cooperation with Red Cross Luxembourg, Prolingua offered Syrian refugees a 60-hour French course for free and they successfully completed the programme.
Naeem studied law back home for 3 years. He looks forward to continuing his law studies at the University of Luxembourg once his legal status is determined. He has already become involved at the local judo club in Esch-sur-Alzette where he has made a couple of friends.
Nehad is an architect and comes from the Kurdish part of Syria. He arrived in Luxembourg together with his wife and children. Nehad looks at the future with positive eyes. He has already managed to find volunteering work in an IT support service.
They both find Luxembourg a great place to be where locals are supportive and NGOs offer help. Most of their problems are administrative as they look forward to getting their status sorted so that they can settle in the Grand Duchy.
Talking about cultural shocks, Naeem finds it incredible how cars stop at zebra crossing.
Prolingua wishes Naeem & Nehad success in their new country.
