Description of seminar

This seminar aims at providing the necessary language and techniques to present successfully at conferences and meetings. By combining the soft skills of presentation with the typical structures of the English language this course offers practical information and extensive activities. Pronunciation and listening comprehension will be also covered with Speedlingua to assist the participants in speaking in front of an audience with improved confidence.

Programme

Lesson 0
Oral assessment of the candidates, needs analysis and introduction to Speedlingua

Lesson 1 (4 hrs) – soft skills*
Introducing the parts of a presentation, role-plays, self-assessment

Lesson 2 (2hr30 mins) – languages
Getting started – stating your purpose, effective openings, signposting

Lesson 3 -(2hr30 mins) – languages
Basic & further techniques – emphasis, focusing, simplification

Lesson 4 -(2hr30 mins) – languages
Key language & handling questions – formality, clarification, dealing with questions

Lesson 5- (2hr30 mins) –soft skills*
Body language & visuals

Lesson 6 – final assessment
For their final test candidates will be required to give a presentation in front of the group on a subject of their choice.

Pre-requirements
Non-native English speakers. Intermediate level mandatory assessed by entry test

All can be arranged in line with clients’ requirements either at Prolingua or in- company**
